Goals are one of the fuel that drive us on daily basis. Last week I just play my PS2 not even reading a book, not even a chapter. I wonder to myself why would I do that? I am a goal oriented person and then I realized I have been setting goals way too high in such a short term that not only it's impossible it's also demotivating and pulled myself from reaching my goal.
It is almost scary that anyone knows the paramount rule of setting goal is called "SMART" (Specific,Measurable,Achieveable/Attainable,Realistics,Timely) and yet I shoot myself on the foot wanted something in untimely manner.
So now I am revamping the timeline and the degree of difficulties in setting my goal, reaping some of the small successes before the big ones.
So, you're going to set your goals lower to meet expectations? Goals are meant to be high so you test your endurance and ability to reach them so you feel a sense of accomplishments. If we don't succeed, we can't just say "our goals were too high" and then lower them until we reach something. Thing man saw the moon and said "oh, it's too far, forgetabout it." NO !!! Set high goals and find a way around the barriers and reach those goals. No goal is too high, not even becoming GOD. You need to find a way on how to do it, within your given parameters.
ReplyDeleteMaster it's not that the end goal being revamped, but it has to be broken down to small chunk with reasonable time and staging. We don't go to the moon before succesful attempt being outside the atmosphere.Simply we gotta crawl before we leap.
